My work aims to reflect on the power and value of human conversation by combining the photographic image with hyper-realist drawing. The purposeful blur of the photograph eliminates any permanence it previously held, whereas the details exhibited in the drawing show the durability of the artist’s hand, combined with meaningful conversation. Personal quotes from each subject further provide the viewer with a sense of each individual's identity, influences and concerns. This series aims to encourage deeper connections with the people around us by harnessing the power and beauty of a conversation. The richness and depth of positive dialogue enhances wellbeing, helping us to avoid focusing on the sometimes negative, fleeting ‘snapshots’ of life.
