For my MA I have been creating abstract pieces inspired by childhood. My work acts almost as a memoir.

For the exhibition I focused on a collection of cards I had found in a box of keepsakes. I wanted to emulate the aesthetic of the cards in relation to different occasions. I created various sets, called ‘Dear Birthday’, ‘St. Valentine’ and ‘Absence’. Often the cards that we give to loved ones for these occasions, do a lacklustre job of truly emulating our feelings and what we want to say to someone. With this in mind, I wanted to attempt to create pieces inspired by the aesthetics but also the sentiment of these greetings cards.
