One of the most important things for me in creating my paintings is the element of fun, whether coming up with different scenarios for the characters or having fun experimenting with a variety of mediums. I believe art, painting especially, is often taken too seriously and people need to reconnect with their childhood passion for painting. As children, we engage with complex topics through visual media like animated films and illustrated books. We learn through playing and having fun and I believe this doesn’t stop when we grow up. We need to embrace the childish side of art.
