BA Celfyddyd Gain / BA Fine Art
My process involves the mediums of oils, coloured pencil and chalk pastel to investigate the vibrant and energetic beauty of colour. My work is characterised by a bold outline, giving each subject I draw or paint a persona, furthermore a dramatic colour palette that reflects my love and fascination for the early 20th century art movement of German Expressionism. The forms of the facial expressions stem from my obsession with the Moai of Easter Island and artists such as Picasso and Kirchner. I feel I am the conductor in an orchestra with composition, connecting the figures to their environment with meaning.
