The illustrated poetry collection Imagine the Sun is of great personal significance to me. It has allowed me to develop my creative writing as well as hone my illustration skills. Watching the two come together and evolve side by side in my final semester gave me a great amount of joy and a sense of conclusion to my degree. Illustrating my poems provided the opportunity to complement the written word. It allowed me to visualise a certain aspect of each poem, and conversely, each poem tells the viewer a little more about the illustration.

Mae i’r casgliad o farddoniaeth â darluniau Imagine the Sun arwyddocâd personol mawr i mi. Mae wedi caniatáu i fi ddatblygu fy ysgrifennu creadigol yn ogystal â mireinio fy nghrefft darlunio. Roedd gwylio’r ddau’n dod at ei gilydd ac yn esblygu ochr yn ochr yn ystod fy semester olaf yn destun llawenydd mawr i mi ac yn rhoi ymdeimlad o gwblhau fy ngradd. Roedd darlunio fy ngherddi’n gyfle i ategu’r geiriau ar bapur. Ar y naill law, roedd yn gadael i mi ddelweddu agwedd arbennig ar bob cerdd, ac ar y llall mae pob cerdd yn dweud ychydig mwy wrth y darllenydd am y darlun.
