Working from memory, I paint intimate interpretations of interior spaces. I have been particularly interested in the architectural forms, quality of light and quietness present in churches and have sought to evoke a sense of these features. Attainment of visual harmony - balance of tone and form, has consistently remained a primary objective.

Allowing the materiality of the acrylic paint to influence the final image is integral to my process; this element is enhanced with the use of glazing and additional textural or drying mediums. I strive to retain an element of spontaneity and fluidity during the meticulous application of many layers of paint. Through this approach I have found it possible to blur the line between figuration and abstraction.
