Mermandho il Braak (a story)

Acrylig ar bapur / acrylic on paper, 75 x 51.5cm

Mermandho il Braak Chwedl lafar Gunnai/Kŭrnai yw Mermandho il Braak sydd wedi’i chyhoeddi yn stori ddarluniadol gan Lynette Solomon-Dent. Ymarferiad cyfieithu oedd y gwaith i ddechrau (gweler papur llwyd) ac fe’i grëwyd yn ystod lleoliad preswyl yn Awstralia. Cafodd y delweddau eu creu wrth wersylla yn Lot 50-Kanyanyapilla, deugain erw o dir sy’n eiddo i gyfaill. Dewiswyd saith brawddeg o’m cyfieithiad i ffurfio’r saith delwedd. Cynrychioli y tri chymeriad yn y stori gan goed.

Mermandho il Braak is an oral Gunnai/Kŭrnai myth that has been published as an illustrated story by Lynette Solomon-Dent. This work began as a translation exercise (see 'Faded Words') and was created whilst on residency in Australia. The images were created whilst camping at Lot 50-Kanyanyapilla, forty acres of land owned by a friend. Seven sentences were selected from my translation to form the seven images. The three characters in the story are represented by trees.
